Privacy Policy

ChurchesLive is built to be private by default. You can watch live church services without an account, and we collect as little as possible. This policy explains exactly what we handle and why.
What we collect
- Account (optional). If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password through Amazon Cognito, so your saved churches can follow you across devices. You do not need an account to watch.
- Your saved churches. The churches you favorite. Tied to your account if you are signed in, otherwise kept only on your device.
- Notification token. If you turn on "go live" alerts, we store your device's push token so we can notify you when a service starts. It is not linked to your identity.
- Anonymous usage. A random identifier the app generates for itself (not your name, email, phone, or device ID) plus basic events such as app opens and which church was watched, so we can understand how the app is used and improve it.
What we do not collect
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party ad or tracking networks.
- We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
How church streams work
Services play through the church's own official YouTube embed. When you watch, playback is delivered by YouTube, and Google's terms and privacy policy apply to that playback. ChurchesLive is a directory and viewer; it does not host or own the streams. Our backend runs on Amazon Web Services.
Deleting your data
Delete your account any time, in the app. Go to You → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and your synced favorites. If you only used the app without an account, uninstalling removes the on-device data.
You can also email us and we will help remove anything associated with you.
Children
ChurchesLive is a general-audience app for watching church services and is not directed to children under 13.

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
